Karma

We were at the grocery store check out the other day. The checker next to ours came over and gave Haley this little stuffed bunny. She said that a man had purchased it and had told her to give it to the next child that came through the lines. Another example of how there is way more good in this world than bad. We explained to Haley that we will now do something nice for someone else because of what that man did for her. It was very cool. Maybe this is karma for always paying the bridge toll for the car behind us? :) Nice, warm, fuzzy story.

Weekend in Arnold

Last weekend we were up in Arnold with the Nissens, Giorgettis, and Schwartzes. It's hard to believe we were in snow last weekend and in shorts this weekend. We had a GREAT time all together. We ate, played with the babes, hiked, and played in the snow. It was Haley's first visit to the snow and she loved it, especially when she got to eat it. Sam and Jack are growing so fast and doing new things. It was so cute watching them side by side on the play mats. Sam was so gentle and feminine. Jack was all boy going after his toys. I wish I had a picture of them together. Sorry Jack! The only pic I had of you was blurry. We had an awesome time spending the weekend with such good friends. Thanks Giorgettis!

Haley Visits Middle School

This week Diane is on Spring break with her family, so everyone has taken a day with Haley (Grandpa, Grammie, Courtney, Josh and Grandma). Yesterday Josh had the day off with her and brought her into work. It's been a year since she has visited me at school. What a difference a year makes. She walked into my room, walked over to a group of students and said "I am having a baby!" The students loved her. I am sure it helped that their work was interrupted. At first she climbed up onto the stool in the front of the room and waved to everyone. She answered questions and sang "Ba, Ba, Black Sheep" and "ABC" for the whole class. She walked around and talked to the tables and sat down next to one kid at a desk and started coloring. "I can draw an H," she told one of my students and the showed him. The next class came in and she did the same thing. It was the highlight of the week to say the least.

Stee-Rike!

The baby is as long as a bowling pin and between 2 and 1/2 and 3 lbs. Sometimes it feels like there is some bowling going on in there!

More Pictures

Laughing

Haley has been keeping us laughing...A LOT. Some of the things she says and does are just too funny! I will share a few...

1. Easter Sunday- We got her dressed in her Easter dress (pictures to follow later) and put curlers in her hair. She twirled in the mirror and said "ooh...I am a princess!" We then told her it was time to brush her teeth. "Do princesses brush their teeth?" We assured her that they do. A half hour later we found her ready to go to the bathroom. "Do princesses poop?" ummm...yes.

2. She gets what we do during the day. I will pick her up and she'll say "How was your good day at work? Were you students good? Did they make bad choices today?" "Hey Dad, how was your good day at work? How is your office?"

3. She has started to cut things with a plastic knife. She is definitely hired to cut all of the baby's food when it is that time. The pieces she cuts are the smallest things I have ever seen.

4. On Easter we did our egg hunt. We had colored eggs the day before and had labeled one for everyone in our family. As she found eggs she would say "Daddy, this is yours! Mommy, I found yours!" She then found the baby's and said "Is this the baby's egg?" We told her it was and she looked at it and quickly threw it to the ground. Josh and I both dropped our jaws in horror. She has been so excited about the baby. Has it hit her that a sibling will change the way of life? Is she going to hate the baby?! "Mommy, there was a bug on it!" aaahhh...thank goodness.

She is constant entertainment.
