Weekend in Sonoma

Had a wonderful weekend in Sonoma with the Carlson family. It took us 5 and 1/2 hours to get up there Friday night. We were literally the last car they let through before closing 101 behind us. Crazy flooding everywhere. Saturday didn't rain a drop which was great. The girls were able to play outside, on the playground, and around town. It was a very fun time. We missed the Haines family this year, but look forward to next year where the kid count will go up to 6...crazy!!!

Our Little Fruit Salad

The baby is as long as a banana and as heavy as an orange. I get a kick out of the comparisons!

Ultrasound

Yesterday we had our ultrasound. Haley had the option to go with us and chose to hang out with her Tata instead (she literally HATES going to the Dr., even if it's not for her). The exam was amazing! The first shot we saw was the little profile followed by the brain, heart, legs, arms and hands. We just watched in awe of the whole thing. We were tempted to find out the sex, but resisted. I must say, I was weaker than Josh, but I am glad we chose not to. We talked to the woman about how she must just love this job. She said when it's good, it's great and when it's bad, it's devastating. We never thought of that. She thanked us for making her day a good one by having a perfect little baby in there...words every parent wants to hear. The baby moved around a ton. It's so crazy that s/he is moving that much and I can't feel it! She went to take pictures at the end and we could not get another profile shot (my favorite view). My due date was moved from June 19th to the 14th. Needless to say that seeing our new peanut and coming home to our current peanut made our day. We are constantly in awe of the whole experience. It is just as amazing as the first time!

Life is a Fairy Tale

Haley has been into fairy tales and princesses. We're talking books, games, toys, stories. Yesterday she said, "Daddy, you are my one true love." He wished he could have recorded that to play during her teen years!

And...She's Back!

Haley is back to her crazy self. Thank goodness! We had baby Jack over for dinner last night. As you can see, he is adorable! Kim and Jason are doing well. Dying to see little Sam soon. We are so excited for friends to be experiencing it all.
As for new baby news, we had an appt last week where we got to hear the heartbeat. My eyes filled with tears. It just doesn't get old. I have felt a few flutters from this peanut. We have our ultrasound on Thursday and we are not finding out the sex this time. Shakin' it up a bit!

We Want our Haley Back!

Haley has been sick since Monday. It started with her throwing up, seemed better by that night, then progressed to a cold with a fever here and there. Poor thing! For the last 4 nights she has cried out every 30-60 mins from coughing and/or not breathing through her nose. Her eyes have been glazed and she has been so low energy. Every now and then she will have a burst of energy and dance around or want to rough house a bit. Very refreshing to see glimpses of her little self. It is the saddest thing when you cannot help your kid. Needless to say, we are all exhausted from waking up 8-10 times a night. She has to feel better soon, right? Hopefully she has Josh's immune system. It is miserable when he is sick, but it only happens once in a blue moon.

Hello 2008!

The plan was to have a bunch of friends over for NY Eve. Sadly, Haley spent the morning getting sick. She was done and better by 10am, but we canceled the party in case she had something. She was fine and we are hoping it was just something she ate. The Garcias called later to check in and ended up coming over for some food and play time. Haley was so happy to have Camryn over after being in the house all day. We ate and hung out. Josh and I played some Scene It to ring in the new year (Josh won 2 out of 3). Fun, low key evening. 2007 was a very good year and we look forward to 2008. Happy New Year!
